FIRE RETURNS

THE QUARTERLYY FIGURES. SIXTEEN CALLS RECEIVED. Tue quarterly fire returns show that during the months of January, February and March the Hamilton Brigade received sixteen calls, eight of which were to atcual fires, six lo gorse and grass outbreaks and one to a chimney lire, only one false alarm was raised. in the Corresponding period of last year twenty-four calls were received and on account of the dry spell the majority of these were to gorse and grass fires. in' March eight calls were received, two of which were to fires in buildings. The Brigade was also called upon lo deal with five outbreaks in gorse and one chimney fire. in March, 1929, ltio Brigade was summoned on six occasions, one of which was to a lire in a building, and four to gorse fires.
