RUGBY FOOTBALL.
MORRINSVILLE CLUB. The first practice games of the season were played on the Morrinsvllle grounds on Saturday. A number of players were on the ground, and several scratch games were played, and considering that Hie weather was much more suitable for cricket than football, being quite oppressively hot, some good form was shown, and the prospects for a successful season were never better. The ground will be in much better order than it was last season, the grass now being well established, the lOw places, where water lies in wet weather, having been filled up and re-grassed.
