An alarming conflagration occurred at Komatsu, 117 miles north-east of Kyoto, a town noted for its porcelain industry. Fanned by the wind the flames desLroycd more than 700 buildings before they were -controlled. Many firemen were killed. No other casualties have been reported. TOKIO, March 29. , Ten men were killed outright by an explosion in a coalmine at Kyishu today. Many others were seriously injured. The flames are endangering the rescue parties.
