Mr W. R. Eyre, of Hamilton, is Gazetted ’as honorary child welfare officer. Mr K. S. Williams, M.P. for Bay of Plenty, is an inmate of a hospital, suffering from injuries to his. knee. Hon. W. J. Mann, M.L.C., of Bussclton, West Australia, a member of the Australian Provincial Press Association, is visiting Hamilton. Lieutenant I. H. N. Keith, assistant instructor at the Mangere Aerodrome, has been appointed chief instructor for the New Plymouth Aero Club. The Timaru Harbour Board has appointed Mr F. Metson to fill the vacancy caused by the death of the secretary, Mr C. G. Wightman. Mi Metson has been in the service of the board for over 20 years.' The Rev. P. S. Smallfield. accompanied by Mrs Smallfield and their daughter, left Auckland by the Maunganul yesterday en route to England and the Continent. They will be away on holiday for 14 months.
