5 GIFT EVENING

FUNCTION AT HORSHAM DOWNS. Miss Ena Preest and her fiance, Mr. A. Henderson, were guests-of-honour at a gift evening given last week by the residents of Horsham Downs, in the local hall. The chairman, Mr. G. H. Boyd, presented the bride-to-be with a large and varied assortment of gifts and on behalf of all present wished her and her fiance every happiness in Llie coming years. Mr. Henderson suitably replied. Songs and recitations were rendered, Mrs. G. Silcock presiding at the piano and* Mr. Ross Bruce acting as M.C. A delicious supper was served and the evening ended with the singing of “ por They Are Jolly Good Fellows ■and “ AoJd Lang Syne,’’ after a very bappy time had been spent.
