SUCCESSFUL FAIR.

CREDIT BALANCE OF £283. ALL HELPERS THANKED. Appreciative reference to all those who had voluntarily helped to make the fair at the Ferry Bank, held last week in aid of the Beautifying Society, such a success was made at the windup meeting of the management committee this afternoon. It was stated that the stall a did remarkably good business, particularly in view of the fact that only a fortnight was devoted to preparation. After all accounts had been paid the balance-sheet, which was adopted, showed a credit balance of 283 18s 3d. Special votes of thanks were passed to Mr. Hood for free carriage, Mr. Sherson for lighting concessions, the Schoolmasters’ Association and the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company for a loan of a marquee. Votes of thanks were also passed to a number of other bodies and to all who assisted in making the fair probably the best yet held.
