The coalminers at their convention to-day by a large majority rescinded the “no compromise.” decision taken yesterday. Mass meetings will he held to coniirm or reject the action of the convention. The Federal Government has agreed to grant the miners a subsidy of 9d a ton for a certain period of trial. The owners and miners will meet on Friday.
