MR JENKINS’ DECISION. \ ‘ / WILLING TO JOIN REFORM LEAGUED MAY NOT BE A CANDIDATE* AUCKLAND, Thursday. Mr H. R. Jenkins, who resigned the Parnell seat in the House of Representatives on Friday, is willing to join the Reform League, and has intimated that he is prepared to abide by the result of the ballot by which the official Reform candidate will be select-' ed. Thus, if Mr Jenkins is not chosen as the official Reform candidate by tba conference of delegates to be convened for that purpose, he will not he a candidate at the by-election. At the back of Mr Jenkins’ decision is the desire to bring about the union, of the Reform and United partieg against Labour. THE PRIME MINISTER. WILL HE HELP IN CAMPAIGN % WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Prime Minister, Sir Joseptt Ward, has made no decision as to whether he will participate in the Parnell by-election campaign. Interviewed by telephone from Wellington, Sir Joseph said that whether he spoke during the campaign, would depend entirely upon circumstances. He had, however, no desires to discuss the possibility at present, THE UNITED CANDIDATE. There is every likelihood of the official United Party candidate for the Parnell by-election being announced to-morrow.
