AEROPLANE VISIT TO MURCHISON. —An aeroplane visited Murchison, centre of last year’s big earthquake, on Sunday, being the first visit of this kind to be experienced by the district. Mr. Tom. Newman, pioneer of the horse coaching days, flew from Hokitika in the Hamilton Airway’s’ plane piloted by Captain M‘Gregor. Mr. Newman was the first man to enter Murchison with the old-fashioned coach, find now he is the first to reach there in a more modern conveyance. At top, Mr. Newman (right) and Captain M‘Gregor.
