Marohese Marconi's telephony achievements at Sydney indicate an interesting battle with American interests operating between ' ship and shore in a service across the Atlantic, on which the best result hitherto lias been 2000 miles. Marconi set out with the idea of getting Buenos Ayres, hut decided to attempt the longest possible talk, with surprising results, on a set measuring three feet by three feet -and an aerial of 50ft. or GOft.
