PRINCIPAL BOY INJURED. OPOTIKI, Tuesday. While being transported by motor truck from Tancatua, Principal Boy, who was an acceptor for to-morrow’s races at Opotiki, met with an accident. The lloor of the truck fell through, and the horse landed heavily on the road. He received a severe cut, and there is a large swelling in the upper portion of the left hind leg. PARTIAL ECLIPSE DESTROYED. AUCK LAN D, Wcdn es d ay. While galloping on the track at Avondale yesterday Partial Eclipse broke a leg and had to be destroyed. Partial Eclipse was a five-year-old mare by Nassau from Sibford, and was owned and trained by S. G. Lindsay. COIVUVIENDATION BREAKS DOWN. A Press Association message from Dannevirke states that Mr W. 11. Gaisford received cable information yesterday that Commendation had hopelessly broken down and had been scratched for the Doncaster Handicap, for which at last mail advices he was favourite, and the Sydney Cup.
