DALGETY TEAMS. ' AUCKLAND PLAY HAMILTONA DRAWN GAME RESULTS. The empoyees of Die Auckland branch of Messrs • DalgGly and Go.. Ltd., visited Hamilton yesterday and played the annual cricket fixture with the employees of the local branch on Seddon Park. A very .even game resulted, the match ending in a draw in Hamilton's favour. The game was scheduled to commence at 11 o clock, but the heavy downpour of rain delayed the match and play was commenced at 2.15 p.m. The wicket was in fair order, having boen covered during the rain, but the outfled was very slippery. - Auckland won the toss and elected to bat. A. Singleton and N. Lindrum opened. Both batsmen played fine cricket and the score board showed 92 before the partnership was broken, Singleton being caught by Lissette oft Evans for 41. G. Murray was the following- batsman, but lie was caught and bowled by Evans after he had scored a single and the tally was 115. S. Deacon tilled the breach. At 133 Lindrum was run out after compiling a brilliant 76. W. Heather was the next to the crease but was . caught by Hvde off Evans before he had opened his account. V. Goddard followed and had two on the board when afternoon lea adjournment was called with the score at 140 runs. When play was resumed Goddard notched another single before being clean howled by Whimp. N. Matthews was the next batsman but was well caught at square-leg by Simmonds ofl Lissette after notching a single. _ Deacon was caught behind the wickets off Whimp for 23 when the score hoard read 103. P. G. Bailees and E. J. Sanders were the next partnership, the former retiring with six to his credit and 173 on the board. H. R. Lacy followed and was clean bowled by Whimp without scoring. The innings was declared with 9 wickets down for 173 runs. Fadeley and Lissette opened for Hamilton, the latter facing Singleton. He gained a single off the fourth ball and Badeley hit a brace off the seventl? Cross took the leather at the other 'end and the scoring was slow, 40 appearing on the board after half an hour’s play. Both batsmen commenced to hit out at this stage. Play weakened for a spell but later both Badeley and Lissette opened their shoulders again and after an h'our s play 100 appeared on the board. The partnership was broken when Lissette was clean .bowled by Lindrum for 49. Whimp followed but was caught by Deacon off Lindrum for two. Evans filled the breach and played carefully for a spell but commenced to follow the example Badeley set by hitting hard. Badeley received the greater portion of the bowling, and with Hie light fading fast and only 40 to make to win, laid about the deliveries in fine style, but stumps were drawn with 158 on the board for the loss of two wickets, Hamilton requiring only 16 runs to win. TE KAWA WINS COMPETITION. The Waipa Cricket Association’s competition was brought to a close at Te Awamutu on Saturday afternoon. Before the matches started Te Kawa and Te Awamutu were level, a point ahead of Paterangi and High School. Te Kawa won comfortably from Paterangi, and as High School defeated Te Awamutu Te Kawa won the honours again by one point from High School; followed by To Awamutu and Paterangi, a point between each. MORRINSVILLE CLUBMARRIED v. 'SINGLE. A match, Married v. Smgle, was commenced at Morrinsville on Saturday. Singles won the loss and batted first and made such a determined stand that the last wicket did not fall until lime was called. The batting was much above the average, and a big score was run up, although the bowling and fielding were good. A. Ailken gave a dashing display, hitting seven sixes, and twelve fours and making a total of 104 before he' was caught by Jones. Dodd also played ,a good defensive innings and scored 66 before lie was caught by Mclntyre. Following were the scores:— SINGLE. —First Innings.
