The match between the Australian Test cricket team and Western Australia was continued yesterday in extremely sultry weather. The attendance was. .10,000 and the gate takings were £'7ls. Western Australia had made 167 and the Australian team 59 for one wicket on the first day. Australia gave a good display of batting. The innings ended about tea-time, having produced 324 runs in 250 minutes. .Bradman made 20 in 10 minutes by hitting everything, and was easily caught when be had made 27. Kippax began slowly and gave a careful display, taking 97 minutes for 50 runs and 151 minutes for the century. He then hit everything and threw his wicket away with an easy catch . when he had made 114. Richardson • in compiling 45 in 42 minutes dis- 1 played sparkling batting. He hit eight fours. Australia’s innings lasted 250 minutes. The Western Australians were apparently tired on the resumption and made a poor showing. They lost four wickets for 67 runs.
