MEETING AT TE AWAMUTU. INSPECTOR’S FAVOURABLE REPORT At the quarterly meeting of the To Awamulu Fire Board the chairman (Mr 0. G. Downes) presided. Inspector Hugo paid his visit of inspection to the, brigade, and reported very favourably on the general condition of the brigade and gear, and added: "The required inspection drills, particularly the oral part thereof, were carried out in a smart and efficient manner, and the station and equipment were found in good and proper order.” The Deputy reported:—Fire calls: There were no fire call? during tiie

Competitions: Several members of the brigade arc now training for Die Ilowden and Dill Maloney Shields competitions, to tie held at Cambridge on .March 29, and the Auckland District Demons traI lion, lo be held at Dargaville on Easter Saturday. The financial statement was received, and accounts totalling £B4 6s Sd were passed for payment. This leaves a credit balance of over £BO. Superintendent Narby, who has been absent on sick leave for six months, handed in his resignation, which was accepted with regret. His services to the board are to be recorded.

j The Annual Meeting. The annual meeting was hold immediately afterwards. 'The secretary called for nominations for the chairmanship. Mr Downes was unanimously re-elected chairman, all Hie members of the board supporting it. Tile estimates approved for the coming year showed a drop of i!4O. Deputy Morris was appointed superintendent, vice Mr T. AY. A’arbey (resigned). Applications for the position of Deputy Supuerinlcndent are to be called for, returnable at the next quarterly meting in June.
