They are machined to the ten-thousandth of an inch. Because of accurate interchangeability, new bearings, as perfect as those originally in the engine, can be installed in a fraction of the time needed for the usual fitting and scraping. Crankshaft alignment is independent of the mechanic s skill. Reo seven-bearing crankshafts are so nicely balanced and aligned that Vibration, the greatest danger to engine life, is practically eliminated. ~ Distortion and exceptional distortional strains are reduced. Bearings last longer, rower is smoothly developed and transmitted, engine life is increased, and there is unusual freedom from the necessity for power plant adjustments and repairs.
