THE BRITISH TOUR. BROADCASTING FAVOURED. - “It is to be regretted that the New Zealand Rugby Union, the body at the head of this wonderful amateur organisation, will consider £ s. d. in the matter of broadcasting the approaching games of the British Rugby tour,” said tlie president ol' the Manawatu Rugby Union (Mr J. A. Colquhoun) at the annual meeting. “It seems to me that the Rugby Union has everything to gain by publicity. It has much to he grateful for to tlie press and I am of the opinion that it should do all in its pow'er to obtain publicity by broadcasting. There are many people in tlie country districts who cannot see i’ootb'all and they should he given the opportunity of listening-in. In looking at the material aspect, I consider that the union has everything to gain by publicity. I think it would be well if we gave it as our considered opinion that the N’.Z.R.U. should allow broadcasting throughout New Zealand.”
