NOVEL PROCEDURE.
AN OWNER’S PROTEST. The novo! procedure of an owner protosting against the victory of his own horse In a race occurred recently at the Mllllcent races, South Australia. Mr E. F. I.unn saddled up Lucky Cast and Bon Star for the Novice at Miliicent, and they ran first and second respectively, but not in the order In which they wore supported by the public and apparently by Mr Lunru Lucky Cast returned the larger dividend. Immediately after the race Mr Lunn lodged a protest on behalf of Bon Star’agalnst Lucky Cast f°r alleged Interference, but the objection was dismissed. Bon Star did not get away too well, and after making a desperate attempt to out down his stable-mate was beaten by a head. A parallel to this most unusual form of protost cannot be recalled.
