JUMPER SUITS.

GAYER COLOURS. Much has been done to brighten the Jumper and three-piece suit this season. All manner of gay appliques and trimmings are permitted. .Bands of jersey and crepe de chine in the brightest of colours are appllqued on to the jumper In conventional and geometrical designs. Scarf collars and long tie cuffs of a vivid contrasting shade are introduced to add smartness and Interest to the suit. Embroideries in thick woollens and silks are also seen, and some suits have two or three (ones of the predominating shade of the suit, used in the jumper, the darkest colour being always at the hem. Jumpers of these two-piece or three-piece suits may be as gay as the wearer wishes. Often the colours are woven into the material, and vividly striped jersey, in straight or zig-zag effects, is used for the jumper. The skirt, however, must ’be unadorned. This is one of the rules upon which fashion is insistent this season, and the Jumper takes the whole of the trimming or colour contrast. For the useful one-piece frock of satin, marocain, and georgette, which the possessor of a fur coat finds such an invaluable asset during the winter, there is more laxity as regards the skirt. It may be uneven, dipping towards the 'back, and be flared or draped. Tucks, pleatings, and insertions of another colour are also allowed. The new tightly-moulded hip-line is expressed in this type of frock by a yoke at the waist, from which the skirt flares out. Fine tucks are a fashionable trimming, and often the hip-line of a georgette afternoon frock shows a series of these fine 1 tickings.
