The Federal Court at Seattle held a night session and declared the seizure of Uie Canadian ship, Chief Capilano illegal, and quashed the attachment, thereby averting international complications. On Lhn ground that under International law a vessel sailing from a British port for a foreign port cannot be seized for a damage claim, the American Shipping Company’s (Vancouver) freight steamer, Chief Capilano, which was seized at Seattle on tier way to Japan, was released by Ihe order of the Seattle Court to-day.
