Wilkins states he has given up the use of aeroplane in all further expeditions in Hie Arctic and Antarctic. “ The aeroplane is suitable for preliminary reconnoitring,” he said; "it is not, however, of any use 'for making detailed surveys or scientific studies of land already discovered. No doubt a great deal of reconnaissance work remains to be done both in tho Arctic and in Antarctic, hut so far as I am concerned I am through with flying in either place.”
