SOCIAL EVENING.
BRIDE-ELECT HONOURED A very' pleasant social evening was spent in the schoolroom of Hamilton East Presbyterian Church, when a good number of members and friends assembled to do honour to Miss M. Gardiner and Mr, J. Woinscott, who are shortly to be married. Several games and competitions were enjoyed, interspersed by vocal solos from Mrs. E. Edmonds and Mr. 11. Milne. The Rev. J. Haslop spoke of Lho life-long connection Miss Gardiner has had with I lie church, and expressed on behalf of those present their best wishes l'< t her lulure happiness. Miss Gardiner then accepted a gift of a handsome set of carvers from Lho friends present, and Mr Wainscott made acklowledgcment in a happy and humourous speech. A dainty supper was served, and Auld Rang Syne was sung, thus closing a most delightful evening.
