A SUCCESSFUL FIXTURE. ; The annual .sports meeting held in Mr Broad'bent's paddock at Te Kawa : was an unqualified success. Broadfoot, tiie member l'or the district, ! and -Mrs Broadfoot. | During the afternoon Mr Broadfoot i presented the Coverdale Cup to Mrs C. i Merrill, Whose horse, Two-Step, was ! awarded first prize in the Open Hun- ; tors' Competition. Mrs Merrin, having ' won this coveted trophy on three occa- ; sions, becomes the owner of the cup. ! Mrs Merrin presented the club with £lO, the prize money for the event. ! Successful Dance. The dance held in the evening was also a success, £9 odd being taken at the door. The Te Awamutu orchestra dispensed excellent music, and Mes(lames Broadbent and Wright contributed extras. Mr R. Burton was a capable M.G. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr and Miss Wallace. Mrs 11. Smart won the cake-guessing competition.
