MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
SITTING AT OTOROHANGA. (Special to Times.) 0T 0 R 011 ANG A, Thursday. In the Magistrate’s Court. Rena Tahatika, a young Maori, was charged with the theft of a suit of clothes, a watch, and a lie, the property of Robert Grey. Accused pleaded guilty. Constable Fry staled that accused went to a wharc in the country and removed the articles mentioned when the owner .was working about a mile away. Accused was placed on probation. Water-divining Case. In (he adjourned cases where Henry Warner, of Auckland, artesian well-borer, proceeded separately against A. 8. Cowley and \V. T. Cowicy, farmers, of Pirongia Road, Otorohanga, for balance of moneys due him for sinking a bore, the Magistrate gave a most exhaustive summing up before judgment was given. The Magistrate gave judgment for plaintiff, as against W. T. Cowley for £35 Us Bd, with costs and witnesses’ expenses, and against A. 8. Cowley for £3l 13s ltd, with rosls.and expenses. Judgment was also entered in each ease on the counter claims, with costs.
