LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION. AUCKLAND, Thursday. The Leader of the Opposition, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, returned to Auckland yesterday. llis visit to the south was made at the request of various executives of of the party, and Mr. Coates addressed numerous enthusiastic meetings of supporters and friends. He was especially pleased with the reception given to the party’s programme hi Christchurch, where a particularly strong organising committee was set up. Similar committees were established at other South Island centres as a result of the meetings.
