HAMILTON FREE FAIR.

BOROUGH GRANT OVERDRAWN. FUNDS URGENTLY REQUIRED. All arrangements for the Hamilton Free Fair are well in hand, and it is hoped that a good amount will be realised in aid of the funds of the Beautifying Society. The president of the Beautifying Society, Mr W. 11. Paul, has received a communication from the town clerk to the following effect: “1 have to draw your attenlioh to the fact that the council’s grant to the society is sonsiderahly overdrawn. I would, therefore, ask you to arrange to let me have a cheque for the amount overspent at March 31.” The Beautifying Society has exceeded the borough subsidy by nearly £3OO. and it is hoped to be able to pay the whole, of tins amount as a result of the carnival.
