HAMILTON MARKETS. BUTTER DOWN ONE PENNY. ALL FRUIT IN HEAVY SUPPLY. Heavy supplies of all varieties of fruit are now reaching the markets, and a good demand is keeping the prices at ruling rates. To Kamvlral.a grapes are now in full supply and large quantities are being disposed of daily. The quality of the fruit is superior to last year. Golden Queen Peaches arc also in heavy supply, but a keen demand Is keeping the price steady. The following prices are being realised. Fruit. Apples.—Cox Orange, 7s to 8s; Jonathans, os to 6s; Gravensteins, 7s to 7s 6d; Delicious, 6s to 6s 6cl; Adams Pearmains, 5s 6d to 6s 6d; Scarlet Pearmains, 6s to 7s; Parlins, 4s 6d to 5s 6d. Peaohee: Golden Queens, 5s 6d to 7s; Late Reds, 5s to 6s; Ospreys, 6s to 7s. Pears: Louise Bon Jerseys, 8s 6d to 10s; Winter does, 7s to 8s: cooking varieties, 5s to 7s. Tomatoes; firsts, 6s to 7s; seconds, 4s to 6s: sauce, 3s to 4s. Grapes: hot house, lOd to 1/- lb; Te Kauwhata, outdoors, lis to 13s per crate (161 b). Bananas: 27s .6d to 325. American oranges, 38s to 455. Vegetables. All lines of vegetables are in plentiful supply, and kumeras are now making their appearance on the markets. The quality of kumeras this season is splendid. The following rates are ruling.—Cabbages, 4s 6d to os 6d sack; cauliflowers, 9s to 10s sack; pumpkins, 8s to 8s 6d cwt.; swedes, 2s 6d sugar bag; Frenchbijans, 5s to 5s 6d sugar bag; green peas, 5s to 6s sugar bag; kumeras, 2d to 2£d lb.; lettuoes, 5s to 7s banana case. Poultry.
A fairly large yarding of poultry came forward during the week, when prices realised were on a par with recent sales. Quotalions are: .Black Orpington cockerels made 3s lo 5s 3d; small, 2s 4d to 2s Gd; White Leghorns, is lid Lo 2s Gd; Black Orpington liens, 2s 6d to 2s lOd; White Leghorn hens, Is 5d to 2s 4d; Black Orpington pullets, 4s 9d to 6s Gd; White Leghorn pullets, 7s Gd to 7s Sd; Ducks, Is 8d to 2s sd; drakes, Is to Is 1 Ocl; Rhode Island Red hens, 2s 6d to 3s id; White Leghorn roosters to 2s 3d; cockerels to 2s 6d. Produce. The local merchants report lhat steady business has been transacted during the week and that all lines are selling well at late rates. All seeds are in good demand ancl if the present weather continues record sales are anticipated. Fish. The local dealers report that all fish is plentiful and meeting a good demand. Dairy Produce. Butter has eased a penny in price is 4d and Is Gd per lb. for second and best grade respectively now ruling. Eggs are becoming scarce and realise Is lOd per doz. wholesale.
