The speech by Admiral Byrd to G,OOO school children in the Town Hall ai Dunedin on Tuesday afternoon, was relayed by all the main New Zealand stations, so that children in other parts of the Dominion could listen-in. An eight valve electric set, which was installed at the Hamilton West- school, by Mr G. S. Anchor, was keenly lis-lened-in to by over 200 children. After extending greetings to the children in New Zealand from the children in the United States, Admiral Byrd discoursed on life in the Antarctic, and gave some interesting data on the type and power of the aeroplanes used.
