SCHOOL PICNICS.

OKOROIRE RAILWAYENJOYABLE OUTING. The picnic of the Okoroire Railway School was held at the Okoroire golf links, and, favoured with a fine day and a large attendance, those present thoroughly enjoyed the day's outing. The picnic arrangements were in the capable hands of Mr L. Hancock, assisted by Messrs S. White, T. Taylor, J. Grantham and L. Watkins. The feature of the day’s outing was undoubtedly the catering of the in dies. Every child received a prize, which was presented by Mr L. Hancock. NGARUAWAHIA. The Manawai, with upwards of 300 pupils from the Ngaruawahia Public and Convent Schools, together with parents and friends, left Ngaruawahia for Foster's Island, some two hours' steam down the river, where the annual picnic was held. Weather conditions were ideal, and the river trip was in itself an outing well worth while. The loyal co-operation of the School Committee, the teaching staff, and residents of the district was responsible for making this second annual trip to the island a decided success. Upon arrival luncheon was served, followed by a spoils programme.
