WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION PRESENTATION OF CARTOONSECURING A COACH(Btv Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The Wellington Cricket Association decided to have copies of the cartoon depicting Lowry, McLeod am McGirr as huge rocks on the Uasm Reserve enlarged, mounted, and presented 1 o these three players, as a momento of their hatting in the Shield match, Wellington v. Auckland. The association also decided to send a letter of thanks to Lowry for his valuable services this season, not only to Wellington, hut to the Dominion cricket. The association had a discussion on the question of securing a coach. Finance was the difficulty in the way, and the feeling was .that a man should not be engaged till his salary could be paid from income. It was therefore decided to open a fund to provide the capital amount, which is estimated at from £IOOO to £SOOO. Meanwhile the selector is to be consulted as to the best, means of improving practices before representative matches.
