ANGLICAN LADIES’ GUILD.
A PLEASANT AFTERNOON AT MATANGI.
A very happy lime was spent by all present at the “Bring-and-Buy” social held in the Matangi Hall under the auspices of the Anglican Ladies’ Guild. The efforts made by members who have been associated with the organisation during the past few years are commendable and a large number of friends and well-wishers will appreciate the continuance of the society’s social activities during the present season. The proceeds from the various entertainments are devoted to a building fund with the object of the early ereotion of a church in Matangi. A miscellaneous assortment of useful gifts w r as disposed of to the ■advantage of vendors and purchasers alike. Mesdames Marychurch, Tomlinson nnd .Buckingham were the successful trio in a Hag 500 tournament. Airs .1. Ranslead secured honours in a not'd competition which preceded a delightful afternoon tea. Among others present, including visitors from adjoining districts, were Dean and Mrs Barnett, of Hamilton. It is the committee’s intention to continue the series throughout the year on the second Friday in each month.
