HAMILTON WEST SCHOOL.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The Hamilton West School Committee held its usual meeting at tlie school, when I here were present Messrs G. C. Hunter (chairman), G.' Hover, A. Duff, C. Lambert, A. Henderson (headmaster), Mrs Kent-John-ston and the secretary,- Mr D. G. Cook. In view of the fact that Commander Byrd will be “ on the air ” on Tuesday, it was decided to arrange for a temporary radio installation and loud speaker at the school, thus enabling the children to hear the explorer. It was decided to commence the formation of a School Committees’ Association, enabling the committees to confer with each other upon general community matters for the improvement of school affairs in general. A sub-committee to deal with this matter was appointed, comprising Mrs Kent-Johnston and Messrs G. G. Hunter and A. M. Bisley. It is hoped that all committees will join this movement. Regular meetings to be attended by delegates from each committee, will be held from time to time.

The secretary was directed to write to Mrs Holloway, expressing the committee’s regret at her indisposition and hope for a speedy recovery. Accounts totalling £8 Is 9d were passed for payment. It was arranged that members should meet and inspect the grounds improvements on Tuesday.
