HOMING PIGEONS.

HAMILTON CLUB. The Hamilton Homing Club commenced the second series of young bird races on Saturday, the race point being Te Kuiti, airline distance 40 miles. Ten members entered 76 birds, and they were liberated by the stationmastcr at 12-33. Weather conditions being favourable, a good, fast race ensued, the winning bird being clocked in at 1.30.28. Results were:— Crabb.'s “Tiny,” velocity 1239yds. per minute 1 A. Sharpe’s “Moonbie,” 1237 ... 2 W. G. Pountney’s “3017,” 1232 . 3 Other competitors were: Mayes, 1229yds; Green Bros., 1226; E. Sutton, 1220; Ashton -and Woodcock, 1215; Bushel! Bros., 1194; J. E. Ilopkinson, 1150; B. Scott, 1114.
