AUCKLAND NEWS.
(by teu:oiupii.—own correspondent.) Auckland Last Night. The Native Minister was to have left Auckland on his mission to the Urewera natives in the middle of this week, but tin railway accident in Waiknto detained 'the officer* who accompany him, so the trip was deferred until to-day. Now, the Chelmsford, which was to take the party, is bar-bonnd at Wliakatana and special arrangements had to be made for the Clansman to run down leaving here at 7 p.m. to-night. A shipment nf some 64,000 bales of wool is being sent from Auckland to London by tha barque Forthbronk now loaded. It is valued at from £IOO,OOO to £IIO,OOO. : A little more business was transacted on the Stock Exchange to-day. The sales reported are: Colonial Bank, 89s; New Zealand Insurance, 72s Gd; Auckland Gas, £lO 13s Gd. In mining stock the only sale roported was Albumia's at 5* 4d.
