THE MELANESIAN MISSION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—ln answer to the eery urgent appeal of the treasurer of the Mclanesian Mission in this month'? issue of (he Church Gazette, I made a suggestion yesterday to my people in church that such of us as are able and willing should promise to increase our contributions for a few years and assjre the mission a certain regular extra sum, however small. I am thankful to say that, already in response to this, I have two subscribers of £1 a year for three years. May I ask others who read this to try also to join this movement. Now is a critical period in the history of the mission. Help now will be doubly helpful, aud a very little extra self-denial by comparatively a few during the next three years will provide the means. We may hope that before that time expires tho mission will have made a fresh start under more encouraging circumstances. May I ask you to kindly publish this letter and much oblige.—Yours faithfully, Wji, N, de L. Willis, Archdeacon. S. Andrew's, Cambridge, Janwv 9th, 1393,
