MoNicol RnpoiiT3.-Un Thursday last I held my usu:il sale at the Borough Yards, Hamilton, and notwithstanding tho very wot day, I had full ynrds and a largo number of good buyers, some of whom had come from the Tituranga and Te Puke side. Dry cows, £'3 2s (id to £4 ; fat cows and heifers, £4 10s to £4 17s; fat steers, £7 10s; grown steers, good quality £5 to £5 7s Gd; inferior, £3 to £4 7s; 15 months to 18-month-old, well-bred steers, £3 4s; yearlings, £2 9s; 12-month to 18-month heifers, £2 to £2loa; fat lamb.*, 7s 9d. A lot of farming implements were sold at satisfactory _ prices, The racing stock (Grace Darling and ijrogeny) were withdrawn, reserves not being reached. Owing to the wet weather and flooded creeks, a number of the cattle that were advertised 'for my Rangiriri sale to-day (Friday) were net brought forward, However, over 200 head were yarded, and although prices were not as high as at my Inst Rangiriri Bale, nearly all' the cattle wero sold, Yearling heifers, £2 Is j two and a-half to three-year-i'ld heifers, £2 15s to £3 ss; yearling steers, £2 !)s; eighteeiwnontliß to two-year-old stoers, £3 Is to £3 9s J two and a-half to three-year-olds, £3 19s to £4 10s; three and a-half to four-year-old, £5 to£u'2s(id.
AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS, MkSSRS Hu.NTBIt AND NOLAN'S WkKKLY Rkpobt.—Grain, seeds, Iwrsefeed, etc.: There has been little business done nn tocount of the holidays, but- there has been •n unsatisfied demand for maize at 3s 3d per bushel; oats, 2s 6d; bran,'£4 per ton; oaten chaff, £2los to £4 5s per ton. Horses: A great many have been brought forward, but as a rule vendors expected higher figures than-those realised. The Durham Yards on Friday were filled to their utmost capacity, and an immense audience attended attracted by the number of thoroughbreds entered, none of which reached fancy prices, ranging from 13 to 70guineas; hacks from £4 to £810s; trotting horse by Berlin, £25; medium draught and light harness horses, from £5 10s to £l2 10s. Wool, hides, and skins: Without any noteworthy alteration in value. No auction sale was held during the past week. Cattle: There has been very little doing in dairy or store stock, but there has been an average number of fat beasts without alteration in value. The Newmarket sale was held at an earlier than usual hour on Tuesday on account of the holidays, which, with the severe weather, prevented stock from coming forward; but there was an average number in the butchers' pens, whbb sold at Iruni ?0s to 22s per lb, Some averages of eteers were £9 14s lid, £8 2s lid, £7 IDs 3d, £7l2s lii), £7 10.-, £7 3s (id; cows, £7 Hi 10s, £5 las £5 ss, £5, £4l2s lid. Sheep were penned in moderate numbers nt Newmarket on Tuesday. Wethers sold at from 10s 3d to 12s 9J; ewes, 7s fid to lis; lambs, lis fid to i)s 3d. Figs: Only Binall ones penned ; sold at from 13s to 24s each. Tho Wellington Park stock sale was a great success considering the heavy downpour during the sale, and tho fact that many of the former spirited bidders have gone on a European trip, Mkssiis A, Buoklano and Sons' Rel'OHT.—At the Haymarket during the past week hand-bound foddor has brought from 2s fid to 3s the cwt; straw, 10s to 21s the load ; wheat, 2s 7d ; maize, 3s 3d die bushel mi whaif, maize 2s lid to 3s Id the bushel, On Friday, horse stock yarded in usual number, wero without alteration in value; prices for useful working horses were from £l2 to £ls each. On Wednesday, hides and skins in less number than average were without alteration in values. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle of good quality were in request, prices ranged from £5 to £7 each.
