The Waiktilo Times Office, Friday. AUCKLAND LIVK STOCK MAKETS. Messrs A. Biickland and Sons' Rel'OUT.—At the Hnyumrket during the past week sales of foridur have been nominal. Maize has brought on the wharf from 2s 8d to 2s 11(1 the bushel. Wheat, at auction, 2s Gd the bushel. On Fiiday horse stock yarded numerously ; were dull of sale, and many remained unsold. Active coaching horses are tlio.se moat in deinaud ; they brought from £'8 to £10. stronger horses up to £17, spring carts £G Us to £10 7s Gd respectively. On Tuesday hides, skins, dumps, and bugs of wool were in full supply, and with no alteration from lato values. Ox hides ranged from to ojjd ; cow hides, ljd to 2£d ; calf skins, to f>£d the lb ; tallow, 15s to 16s 9d ; bones, 4s the cwt. Fleece wool ranged from Gf dto 7d; pieces, from to 4d the lb; tresh lambskins, Is to Is 3d ; dry lambs, 7d to lOd; fresh sheep skins, 3s 2d to 4s; dry skins, Is Cd to 3s; pelts, 2d to 7d each. At the country cattle sales held respectively at Pokeno and Drury, young cattle were yardod numerously, and in brisk inquiry. Prices for calves ranged from 23s to 40s each ; grown steers were slightly lower in price ; cows near calving in leas than usual number brought from £4 to £6 each. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cattle, in short supply, wero at) late values. Prices for those at their profit were from £4 10s to £6 15s. cattle of all classes kept late values. Fat cattle in moderate supply. 150 sold were at irregular prices, but on the whole kept last week's values, useful steers averaging 22s the 1001b. Fat calves in usual number, 48 sold were without alteration in price. Sheep of all kinds in full numbers ; about 200 'vethers withdrawn. Prices were lower throughout the sale. Store aged ewes wero from 2s Gd to 7s ; hoggets, os fid to 8s ; fat wethers, 8s to 13s; owes, 7s to 10s Gd. Lambs plentiful, but many of second quality only. Prices for extra good were 10s to 13s 6d ; good, 8s to 9s ; medium, Gsto 7a ; stores, 4s to os oach. 44S store sheep, 1058 fat sheep, and 590 lambs were sold. Pies were offered in limited numbers, and dull of sale. Messrs. Hunter and Nolan's Weekly Retort. —Grain, seeds, horse foed, etc. : The market has continued dull, and limited quantities have changed hands. We quote : Maize, 2s lOd to 3s 4d per bushel; oats, 2s 3d to 2s Gd ; chaff, £3 10s to £4 per ton ; bran, £3 15.s to £4. Horses : The supply continues large, and the demand is scarcely so brisk, but all strange horsn have met ready sale at previous values. Entries for disposal by auction were numerous at the Durham Yards on Friday. There was constant bidding throughout the sale ; a few reserves could not ba reached for old yard frequenters, but the previous week's values were sustained. We quote : Hacks, from £4 10s to £10 5s ; light harness and medium draught, £5 as to £14 17s Gd; heavy draught, £14 to £24 10s; Wool, hides, skin, tallow and bones : Ordinary quanti ties were pitched at the Durham Yards on Friday. We quote : Fleece wool, in bags. 4d to per lb; heavy ox hides, 3Jd to 4Jd lb; medium, 2Jd to 3d ; steer and cow, l:jd to 2id ; calf skins, 3d to 4jd ; rough fat, lid per lb ; tallow, 15s Gd to 18s Gd per cwt; sheep skins, 2s to 4s each ; pelts, 8d ; lamb skins, Is to Is Gd each. Cattle: The supply of dairy and fat stock has been adequate,and demand strong; more stores would have found purchasers at rates satisfactory to the vendors. The Newmarket yards were fairly well filled on Tuesday, and compete tion was brisk throughout the sale; more well-fatted steers would have found purchasers. There was no noteworthy alteration in the values of any classes. Some averages of fat steers were £8 17s lid, £8 14s Id, £8 3s 4d, £8 0s Sd, £G 17s fid. Cows: £7 7s Gd, £6 8s 3d, £5 12s Gd, £o 2s Gd, £4 2s Gd. Sheep: A good many were penned on Tuesday at Nowmarket, and prices were slightly in favourof the purchaser. Wethers sold at from 10s 3d to 12s; ewes, 8s 9d to lis 3d ; lambs, from 4s Gd to 10s !)d. Pigs : But few were yarded, and the demand was alow, at from 2Jd to 3d per lb live weight.
