The Hospital patient's body from which the. legs and arms recently discovered were supposed to have been serered was exhumed and found to be intact. At a meeting of Sir M. David's creditors a statement was submitted show ing that the liabilities were £131,321, and the assets £25,7G9. The principal secured creditors are the Bank of New South Wales, £25,000 ; the Bank of Australasia, £1650 : the Commercial [ Bank, £6000. The Australian Mutual Provident holds mortgages over his property to the extent of £40,000. The meeting approved of the course pursued by Sir M. Davies, and ad». journed for further consideration. Sydney, December 8. Sir H. Pirkes, in the course of a lengthy speech in the Legislative Assembly, on Federation, insisted that the electoral law in each State must bo left to the State itself ; that each colony entering the second convention must come into it free and untrammelled, and that the Lower Chamber must control the revenues of the commonwealth. Adelaide, December 8. A vessel which has arrived here, touched at Tristan D'Acunha, the principal of three small islands in the South Atlantic, nearly midway between Africa and America, and reports that the crew of the barque Italia, which was bound from Greenock to Capetown vith a cargo of coal, had landed on the island, the barque having been destroyed by fire.
