Hamilton noiiouau. A statutoky meeting of tho Hamilton Borough Council wa« held at n.«m yesterday to elect a representative on the Waikato Hospital Board. There wer* present : His Worship tho Mayor (Mr I. Coates) in thechiiir, and Councillors H. M. Salmon, Tippen, lt.iid, Sla.de, Joner>, S mdes and D. Salmon.—Cr. Tippen nmv.il that .Mr Jones be appointed as representative >if the. Council on the Ki«pital 8u.r.1.— .Seconded by Cγ. 11. M. Salmon and carried utMiiimoasly. —Cr. Jones moved that a hnaity vote of thanks be accorded to Cr, Saltririn for his services on the Board.—Seconded by Or. Slade and carried.—Cr. Snlinun in returning th;itiks said that while on the Board as representative of the Council he- had done his best to keep down expenses and ho was sura the effort* of his successor would be in the same direction. He would like to point out to him thai; among some of the members of the Board there was a feeling to act very harshly towards recipients of charitable aid and ha diil not think that was in accord with the feeiing of the Council.

WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL. The annual meeting of the Waikato County Council, which was to have been held Htnoon yesterday, was postponed until 2.30 p.m., there being nn one present but the clerk. At the lat,t.p r hem- there were present: Crs. Primrose (chairman), Forrest, Paton, Coates, Johnson. Seddon aud Bariigh

Chairman.—Cγ. Coates proposed that Cr. Primrose be chairman for the ensuing twelve months.—Seconded by Cr. Seddon and carried unanimously.—On taking the chair Mr Primrose thanked the councillors for the honour they had again conferred on him in electing him to the position of chairman.

Hospital Kkpbksentativks.— The following gentlemen were proposed to represent the county on the Waikato Hospital Board, viz. : —Messrs Primrose, Forrest, Coates, Davis and Seddun.—On r, vote being taken Messrs Forrest, Coates, Seddon and Primrose were elected. TVAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL. Tho. annual meeting was held at 12 noon yesterday, the clerk (Mr E. dn C. Drury) presiding. Chairman.—Cr. Finch proposed that Cr. F. W. Lung be re-elected cha-rm'an. He spoke in very eulogistic terms of the manner in which Mr Lang had conducted the business, aud he felt if there was an honour in the chairmanship it should be given to Cr. Lang, who had proved himself so capable of filling it.—Cr. Anderson sec inded the motion, which was catried unanimously. —Cr. Lang briefly thanked the Council for the honour done him, and was very grateful to the Council for the business-like manner in which they worked

E.VGISEEB.— Mr A. Armstrong was reappointed engineer at a salary of £190. Clerk, Etc.— Mr E. de C. Drury was re-appointed clerk, etc., at a sa'aiy of'£9o. Hospital Repbesentativks. — Cr.-s. F, W. Lang, J. B. Teas-dale, and J. Anderson were re-elected as the representatives to the Hospital Board. The Council being now entitled to a fourth representative on tho Waikato Hospital Board, Cr. A. Smith was duly elected.

(BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN COUBE3PONDENT.) Cambridge, Last Night, The statutory meeting of the Piako County Council was held yesterday, when Cr. W. P, Chepinell was re-elected chairman for the sixth term. The former representatives on the Hospital Board, viz., Mes;-r.s Chepinell, Hemes, Heaney and Browne, were re-appointed. [A full report of the meeting will appear in our next issue.]

The Cambridge Borough Council met tonight and appointed the Mayor Elect (Mr J. S. Bond) to represent the Bu'oueh on the Waikiit'i Hospital Board.
