There was a good muster of buyers present, and more than cur expected number of cattle and sheep, so thai as bHdine was spirited, particularly for fat and forward stock, almost every thing changed hands before leaving the yards. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report under dati : — Wkllington, October 29.—W001: In this staple operations are in the interval between London sales very quiet, and there is no present indication of the course of tho market for the next series, which commences on the 24t!i prnx. Local consignments are coming to hand ineood quantity. Sales, however, have not yet commenced, except of oddments, which do not call for comment.—Grain : There is no change to report in tho oat market. Sales have been made during the week at lato rates, and we quote Rood, short feed 2* 3d to 2a 4d ; long t.ats, 2-s lid to 2s 2d ; whole fowls' wheat is worth 2a Gd to 2n7d ; maize, 3s Id to 3a 2d ; feed barley, 2s Gd to 2s 7d.—Grass seed : We quote southern machined seed at 4s to 4s 3d ; Poverty Bay rye crass, Gs to Gs 9d ; Pacey'e imported, 4s ; cocksfoot, 2Jd to 3}d per lb.— Frozen Meat: The following cablegram has been received from our London manager, dated 22nd inst:—Mutton market firmer, and has advanced ono-eight of a penny per pound since last report. Can-terbu-y mutton is worth i\d per lb, and Wellington 4d per lb. New Zealand beef— forcquarters are worth 3jjd and hindquarters 4ijd per lb.
