I have much pleasure in certifying to the value and powerral properties of Mr Pearson's Carbolic Sincl Soap, li is extensively used in the wards and offices of the Waikato District Hospital. The carbolic acid contained in it aets as a perfect disinfectant, the sand answers the purposes of a good cleansing agent, and the whole substances are blended together into firm cakes of a very convenient size and shape. For all domestic pui poses I can strongly recommend Mr Pearson's Carbolic Sand Soap, as being a most effective and economical article, and in houses where enteric or other fevers exist it will be found especially useful. Geo. (i. Ken'ny, M.8., &c, Surgeon Waikato Dist. Hospital CHRISTIANITY. I'UHI.ISHEU FOR Till! SPECIAL BENEFIT OF NoNCIIUKCIIr.OEKS. Tkuh Christian Religion, intelligently under, stood comes not to add to men's burdens but to remove, them. " For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." John iii, Its leading doctrines, adapted to the use of this New Age. are summarised as follows—There is one God, in whom is a Divine Trinity of Love, Wisdom and Operation, and He is the Lord Jesus Christ. Savins Faith is to believe in Him. Evils are to be shunned, because they are of the devi! and from the devil. Good Works ought to be done, because they are of God and from God, and they ought to be done by man as of himself, but with the belief that they are from the Lord, operatinpr in him by him. There are two things which constitute the essence of God—love and wisdom. And there are thre« which constitute the essence of His love—to love others out of Himself: to desire to be one with them ; and to make them happy from Himself, The same three constitute the essence of His wisdom; because love and wisdom in God make one, and love wills these things, and wisdom accomplishes them. J. rue Christian God is Divine truth clothed in linm-in language, Mid adapted to tlie varied states of the human heart, that thus a man may know God and learn to know and do His will. '■ 1' ye continue in iMy word, then are ye My disciples indeed." John viii. 31. "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do unto \ou: do ye even so unto them ; tor tins is the law and the prophets. Matt. vii. 8. The Ten Commandments point out what evils are to bo. shunned in order that men may attain eternal life. "That it is not so difficult to ive the life o f t'his-tiiat 5 when"nu thing presents itself that one knows to he insincere and unjust, to winch his mind "is disposed, he need not only chink that it ou-lit not to be done because it is contrary to the Divine commands. If a man accustoms himself so to think, and from custom derives the habit he is then bv degrees conjoined to heaven ; and in so far as Vis conjoined to heaven, the higher degrees of his mind are openeu : and in so far as these are opem-d he sees what is insincere and unjust; and in so tar as he sees these evils ihev can b« shaken oil, fur it impossible that any evif can be shaken oiT until it be seen. This is a state into which a man may enter irom freedom ; for who is not capable from freedom of thinking in this manner ? Hut when he has made a beginning all "oods are wrought in him by the Lord, and He causes him not only to see ,-vils, but alsonottowill them, and finally to become averse to them. This is meant by the Lord's words. "My yoke is easy and My hunk-n is light » Mall xi. 30. Kul H should be known that the difficulty of so thinking, and likewise of ivsistiiiß evils, increases m proooitiun .s . . wills commit evils, for in so far he becomes accustomed to them, until at lengih he does not see them and afterwards loves them, and from the delight of love excuses then, and by all kinds of fillaciescontirms them, and declares that they ire allowable and good. Hut this occurs with those who in the age of ad-lescem:e plunge into evils a, if without restraint, and at the same time reject Divine things irom ui« heart. —" Heaven arid I 1.-ll." No. 5;«. This advertisement, though containing truth for all is especially published for the benefit of those who froiu any cause do not profit by ordinary religions ministrations. Those who approve of the doctrines here enunciated, and who desire to assist in tin- work of disseminating them, are invited to communicate with Mr J. K. Haw ley, St. Martin's, Christchiirch, New Zealand, who will be glad loailurdall necessary information, and supplv a ror.v of" The Doctrine of Life, grans and post free'to any one desirous of perusing It.
