A deputation* to tlio Queensland Agent-General urged that colony to join in the cable guarantee, and remove the disability which weighs harshly on its con.nierco. It was pointed out that the pastoral and mining interests suffer through the high rates, and that Queensland's share of the loss under ihe new scheme would only be about £800 per annum, which the menace of business would probably reduce.
