(Br TKLEGHAPH.—riIKSS association). Wellington*, Last Night. There are plentiful indications that the colony is steadily advancing in prorperit.y. The Colonial Treasurer states that the ri!venue is coming in most satisfactorily for the present quarter. The Customs show an excellent return for the two months of the quarter, and though the wet winter has I Co a diminution of the passenger traffic, the receipts from the railways are, on the whole, quite up to the estimates, showing an expansion of the goods traflic. Another indication that trade is improving is to be found in the repeated applications that are made to the Government for the remission of duty on machinery of different kinds, which it is proposed to import for the purpose of st.irting new industries in the colony.
