The Eguiunt Farmer's Union (Limitod), Huwera, reoortH under date :— August, llth.—We had a sale of sundries in our store on Saturday the Uth inst., and at which a fair lot of things wore sold. We quote: Turkeys, 4s; fowls, Is Id ; honey, 4s per tin, otc. The lamest stock Bale that we have had tor some tune past was held in the Glover Road Yards, Hawera, on Wednesday tho 10th inst. Though our entry of cattlo fell a little short of what was expected, stilj there wore nearly 000 head yarded, and our sheep entries exceeded the numbers advertised. Buyers were present in plenty and bidding was consequently very spirited for every line offered, so with the exception of one pen of cattle and the lot of Napier owes (which were passed in at Mis Od), everything was sold under the hammer at prices much in favour of the vendors. We quote: Fat bullocks, £G 19s ; forward bullocks, £5 os to £5 9s; two-and-half and three-year-old steers, £4 Is to £4 17s ; 18 months to two-year-old steers, £3 2s (id to £3 19s; 12 to 18 months, mixed cattle, £2 9s 6d to £3; weaners, £1 4s to £1 12s Cd; milkers, springing, £4 15s to £G 2s 6d; heifers, springing, £3 lGs to £4 10*; 12 to 18 months heifers, £2 Gs to £2 lGs. Sheep: Fat wethers, 143 9d to 15s.
