GIPSY KING is one of the biggest and handsomest horses in New Zeland and most fashionably bred, being by that great horse Le Loup (full brother to that famous mare Lurline), out of Gitana; Gitana by Rapid Bay, out of Gipsy, by Yattendon, out of Zingara, by II Barbiere —Gipsy. Also, to stand at his own Stables, Lochiel, CAP-A-PIE. Breeders before making arrangements about their mares would do well to see all of the above horses. Good paddocks, with plenty of food and water for mares from a distance. J. McNICOL. August 10th, 1892. r ITO STAND THIS SEASON Jl at Cambridge, Hamilton, and district. THOROUGHBRED STALLION RAGLAN. Dark Brown Compact Horse, 15 hands 3 inches high, 7 years old. RAGLAN was sired by Cap-a-pie, whose cross-country stock are favourably known. Tenambra, the dam of Raglan, was a highly-bred mare, aud ran five seconds in Auckland after being imported from England. She was sired by that grand horse The Marquis, and two of the races he won ware the classic English Two Thousand Guineas aud the St. Leger. When on the turf Raglau proved himself a thorough honest horse and first-class stayer, able to last to the end of a Cup race, carrying weight and defeating the best horses in Auckland. In sprint races he showed his pace by beating performers like Teksum (who won races against the best horses in Australia), Cissy, anil others. As it will be seen, Raglan is a suitable horse to breed from to get racehorses and fast cross-country stock ; and if put to roomy active mares, to get weightcarrying hacks and active harness horses.
