Upon the motion of the chairman a finance committee was appointed consisting of Messrs O'Neill, McCullagh, Barton, Slade, and Coales, whose business it would be to supervise and control the entire expenditure of the finances of the club. The following gentlemen were elected official representatives with power to attend and Vote at any committee meeting, in accordance with Rule 10, viz: Messrs W. M. Hay, M. Harrison, E. Oussen, E. Dickey, A. Mathias, J. Smith, J. Cassidy, and C- J. Storey. Some discussion took place upon the question as to the fee tc be fixed for the privilege ot training upon the course. A good many members were of opinion that the charge last year of £1 was too low, and that the Club was put to considerable expense in keeping the track in order beyond what accrued from this source. Upon a vote being taken it was carried that the fee should be 20s per annum for each horse and that this fee should be paid before a permit was granted. Mr McNicol then brought forward the question of paying a salary to the secretary j he argued that now that the Club was upon a sound footing, it was but right that Mr Carter who had served so long as lion, secretary should have some recognition made him, and he moved that the secretary be paid £52 per annum. This was earned witlnut question, everyone present testifying to thn great obligation Mr Carter had placed the Club under during the past. Messrs Barton, Bach, McNicol, Hay, and the secretary were appointed a committee for drawing up the programmes for the several meetings, and this closed the proceedings,
