S. ANDREW'S, CAMBRIDGE.

The third of the series of socials held in connection with the above Church was held in S. Andrew's school-room, on Wednesday last, and was an unqualified success. The musical selections were excellently rendered, and were considerably above the average of what are usually given at meetings of a like nature. The vocalists were three, viz., Miss Burn-Murdoch and Mr and Mrs O. Garland. The first-mentioned made her debut before a Cambridge audience, and created a very favourable impression. The song, "I Love My Love in the Morning" was her best effort. Both Mr and Mre O. Garland are old favourites with the Cambridge people, and were never heard to better advantage both in solos and duets, with perhaps the exception of the last item on the programme, when they both seemed tired, and consequently did not give it with the usual vim. Mrs Pilcber executed a piano solo in a most masterly manner, and Mrs Ross Watts and Miss Wilson played a duet from Mendellsolhn's first concerto in an admirable manner. Two trios, for piano, violin and flute, played respectively by Miss BurnMurdoch, Miss Chambers and Mr BurnMurdoch, completed tho programme. The manner in which they were executed left nothing to be desired :. tune, time and tonic all being good. The Missee Wilson and Chambers played the accompaniments re quired duriug the evening, and gave every satisfaction.
