Messrs TCsam and Arthuh's Wkkkly IlEl'OßT.— Eight Hales have boon held during the week, including produce, fruit, ironmongery, drapery, and nursery stock. In the produce market there aro a tew changes in values. Potatoes have come forward in varied quality, and our quotation* aro subject to condition entirely: Hobart seed is now in demand ; prices, however, are ruling low, aa the quality is not hif,h class enough for planters. Kidneys bare been wanted ; the market is quitu cleared. Magnum Bonum* met with but little inquiry. Maize continue!! scarce, and a shade dearer than last week; other cereals without change. Fowl wheat is difficult to sell. Carrots in good supply. Fresh buttor in much larger quantities, prices a shade lower; keg butter is in fair inquiry for expurt only, local wants small. Hams and bacon of local cure command fair rates ; Southern factory has advanced |d per lb. Eggs more plentiful. Poultry was penned in more limited quantities. Fruit: Our consignments consisted of ICS cases apples and 320 cases soft fruits ex Tarawera and Waihora, the condition being tirst-class ; good prices were obtained. Our auction prices are as follow :—Waikato table potatoes, £2 (is to £2 10s; Southern, £210s to £215s ; Hobart seed, £2 «o £2 10a; Magnum Bonum, £2 10s to £3; pumpkins, £3 to £3 10s; carrots, 30s to 35s ; mangolds; 20s; onions, £4 10s to £5 10*; oats, 2s -Id to 2i 5d ; wheat, 3* to 3s 3d ; sharps, 4s (id ; maize, 2s 7d to 2s 9d; local bacon, 4d, to 5Jd; ham, 4id to 7d; fresh butter, No. 1 10ld to Is lid, No. 2 7id to BJd ; salt butter, 7d to 10d ; eggs, 10£ dto la; Hobart apples, 8s to 11s (id; Sydney oranges, large cases, 10s 9d to lla 6d ; mandarins, 7s 5d ; passion fruit, 9s 6d to 10* Gd ; local apples, lid to 2d; lemons, 4d to 6d ; fowl?. Is 3d to Is 9d; turkeys, 3s to 4s 5a ; ducks, Is 6d to 2s. Mb Alexandkb Aitkkn's Market RβronT for the week ending August 6.--Busi-ness has been very brisk during the week, and more than the usual amount of general business has been transacted. The auction sales have been very largely attended, with keen competition. In produce, the turn over has been large. Potatoes: Prime samples have found speedy sale. Napier, £2 10s to £2 15s; Waikato, £2 5s to £2 15s; Taranaki, £2 10s to £3; prime Southern, £2 15s to £3. A line of 50 tons of the latter has been placed to arrive at £2 12s 6d to £2 153, ship's side. Waikato Hobart seed, good quality, £2 5a to £2 10s; medium, unsaleable Prime kidney seed are rather scarce at £3 5s to £3 10s; Magnum Bonum, £3 to £3 10s, in demand. Onions of prime quality are scarce at a better price, viz., Jd to Id. while poor lots sold at 6d to 2s per bag. Wheat has been in better demand, and supplies light. Prime fowl feed, 3s to 3s 3d; milling, a line of Taranaki Tuscan eold to arrive at 3s 9d. Oats have found a good outlet at 2s 3d ex wharf, and 2e 4d ex store. Barley, none offering. Carrots : Supply has been far short of the demand, at 30s to. 38s per ton ; mangolds, 20s to 25s ; Swedes, 20s to 30s; pumpkins, 2s Gd to 4s Cd per cwt; kumeras, 6s 6d to 8s per cwt; new kidney potatoes, Id to ljd per Ib ; artichokes, Is to 2s per sack ; cabbages, 2s 4d to 3s 6d per sack. Vegetables : All sorts plentiful, and sold at satisfactory rates. In fruit, there b»8 been a large increase in supplies. H»bart apples, a shipment per s.e. Weihora realised from 8s 3d to 12s per case : local apples, a fair supply at 2Jd to 3d per lb ; tomatoes, 4d per lb ; lemons, 4d to 8d per dozen ; local oranges, 6d fc> 10d per dozen ; peanuts, lfd to 2Jd ; eocoanuts, 6s to 7fl (id ppr sack ; pines, 5s 9d to Gs 3d per dozen. | Poultry : Penned in good numbers ; firstclass table fowls realised from Is Sd to 2s 2d ; good ordinary, Is 4d to Is 7d ; others, 10il to Is 3d ; roosters, young in condition, Is 10d to 2s 6d ; s-n> all and old, Is to Is od ; duckx, Is 10d to 2a 7d each ; geese, 3s 3-i to to 4s 9d ; turkeys, heavy gobblers, 5s to 7s 6d ; ordinary, 3s to 4s Gd ; hens, good 2s 9d to 3s Gd, poor 2s to 2s Gd ; pigeons, fid to !)d ; canaries, Iβ 9d to 7s Gd. Pigs: Ponned in large numbers, and demand quite equal ; best breeds and heavy, youngr, 12s to 19s each ; medium lots, 7s fid to 10s tid ; others, 4s Gd to 6s 9d. Dead rabbits, Is Oil per pair ; hares, 2s to 2-s Gd. Butter has been in more limited supply, with increased demand ; prime fresh, Is ; medium, lid ; prime corned,lld to Is; medium, 9d to 10d ; pastry, 6d to 7d ; inferior, 5d ; Taranaki, fresh, Is; separator, Iβ 3d tinned. Is Gd, Cheese has been received in considerable quantity, and all cleared ; prime factory, 5Jd to Gd ; loaves, 6d to GJd.
