Vernon Harcourt is consulting with, the Radicals as to the advis* ability of demanding that the House of Lords shall not be permitted to force a dissolution over Home Rule. An amendment will be move I to the Ad-dress-in Reply in the House of Commons, with a view of showing that the country will not trust Lord Salisbury. July 23. The friends of Mr Gladstone, and also his medical advisers, are pressing him to accept a Peerage. The Daily News advocates the Liberal Party to have a trial «f strength with the House of Lords. Mr McArthur will probably be appointed Under-Secretary for the Colonies in the new Administration.
