Brown horse, 15 hand, 3 inches, rising 7 years old, by Cap-a-pie, dam Tenambra, by the Marquis (The Marquis was a highclass English horse, winner of the Classic English Two Thousand Guineas, and the St, Leger. RAGLAN started twice as a two-year-old, running second to Leopold in the Nursery Stakes. As a three-year-old he started in three races, running second to Hilda in the Auckland Guineas, and second to Tartar (fist 51b) in the Christmas Handicap. As a four-year-old he won the Maiden Plate at Otahuhu, and on the same day won the Cup. At the Onchuuga Spring Meeting won the Cup, carrying Bst 101b ; Auckland Spriug Meeting won the Prince of Wales' Handicap, beating Leopold, Lady Nora, Leorina, and others. At the same meeting next day won the City Handicap, l.j : miles, carrying 9st., in the fast time of 2min. I2imin. ; Leopold (Sst 51b), second (winner of the Auckland Cup) ; Cissy (Sst lib), third. Same day won the Welter Handicap carrying list, and defeating a field of eight. Won Jubilee Cup of 250 sovs, beating Hilda (Sst 9ib), Antelope, and others. Same day won the Flying Handicap, of lOOsovs, defeating Teksum, Ibchness, and others. As a six-year-old (after a season at the stud) started in Papakura Flying Stakes, carrying top weight, ran unplaced. Auckland R.C. Winter Meeting started in Welter Handicap, carrying top weight, and left at post. As Raglan is highly bred and compactly built and proved himself a performer and able to carry weight, he ought to get stock fit to race and go across country.
