S. ANDREW'S, CAMBRIDGE.
The Rev. J. Hazelden (Home Missionary), gave two exhibitions with his magic lantern in the school adjoining the above church last week; the proceeds being divided between the Home Mission and the Sunday School. The attendance was very good on both evenings. The first exhibition was devoted to illustrations of Lord Tennyson's beautiful poem, " Enoch Arden," and Dickens' "Christmas Carol," the second to the "The Life of Christ. , ' The Rev. gentlemen not only works the lantern, but whilst doing so gives a lecture upon the subject upon view. If we may be permitted to offer a suggestion as to the management of magic lantern exhibitions, it will be that the operator would kindly not interfere with the focussing arrangement more than is absolutely necessary. The manner in which some of the above views were increased and diminished was very trying to the eyes and made several of the audience feel dizzy. Many of the pictures in tho Life of Christ were taken from some of the finest works the world can produce, and by the best masters.
